Introduction

For the past week or so, server 153 has been in protest against the captchas. The protest means no coining and no wars (because wars lead to coining). As one of only a few servers in Age 1 that has captchas, players have been getting fed up and want the captchas to be removed.

A couple of the super servers also have captchas but the threat is there for all servers. Captchas were originally implemented to prevent botting and to reduce the lag that the botting causes. It has failed on both items. Lag continues to be a serious issue, and the botters are going strong. There is now a new service botters can pay for that solve the captchas for them. Meanwhile everyone, botters and non-botters alike, have to put up with the captchas popping up at an alarming frequency - sending troops out to farm, attack, evade, etc. seems to trigger them. Imagine working the gates during an attack, with seconds making all the difference, and then - voila! - captcha! The same thing happens when trying to time attacks. It is ruining the game play for everyone.

SS65 (hope I have the number right) held a similar protest last month and was successful at having the captchas removed from their servers. Hopefully it's permanent. Server 153 tried to talk to Evony about the problems, but Evony representatives refuse to listen. They've practically accused us all of botting, and routinely remove comments from their forums that they don't want to hear (I'll be copying the posts from their forums here as well so everyone can read them). Then they said they would not talk to us anymore. Which brings us to this forum - along with facebook pages - to get the information out to all servers.

This is NOT a server 153 issue. We are holding the line to stop evony from their plan to eventually put captchas on all servers. You spend your money and build up your cities and heros, and then one day your game may very well be ruined as well. Help us to protect your investment - spread the word to as many servers as you can. Bring people here to find out what's happening and how they can get involved. Don't let captcha happen to your server.

The only way to make Evony listen is to hit them where it hurts - financially. I know it's hard to do, but STOP SPENDING. Write to Evony - let them know that you won't spend until captchas are removed from every server. Get the hosts on each of your servers to get together on skype and help us hold the line. Help us to keep the game fun for everyone!
